The World Needs MORE Everyday Imperfect Action Heros!
I was at the gym today.  (Yay for me!)   It is amazing how “downloads” flow in when you clear the cobwebs from your mind with exercise!
I caught a preview for the new GI-Joe Action Hero movie, staring Dwayne Johnson… Mmmm…Nice eye candy!  Got me smiling and then this blog idea flowed in J
I can’t take all the credit for this message.  I am always in learning, growing mode, and yesterday was no exception. While driving in my car, I took the opportunity to listen to a few interviews with some dynamic business women via Darlene Cary.  You can find them at www.HerNextStep.com
Have you ever felt so overwhelmed, frozen, stuck, fearful? My gosh, for many of us that happens every week, or even every day!  You have all these wonderful ideas and goals, but the end result is that you can’t make the next step.  Ladies, YOU HAVE TO!   It is our divine obligation to be true to our hearts desire!  If you have big dreams or goals that fuel your fire, stir your passion, get you smiling and dancing, then you need to learn how to do what it takes to make it happen
One of the interviews was with Erin O’Brien, a Procrastination Coach! Couldn’t we all utilize that valuable service??  Erin helps women break down large daunting tasks or goals in bite-sized manageable steps!  BRILLIANT… Here is what I learned from Erin:  When you take action, it actually releases dopamine into the bloodstream.  Dopamine is necessary in order for us to have “AHA” moments. Most people think they need to have an “AHA” moment before they take action. Isn’t it ironic that the opposite is actually true?   We must take imperfect action first and then the “AHA” moments will come after….  PERFECT
Another lady who inspired me with her wisdom is Corrina Gordon-Barnes, who has written a book called, “Turn Your Passion Into Profit”.  Corrina shared something that really hit home… You have to bust thru your fears and make yourself visible, so people can see you, so YOU can help them…BRILLIANT.
You have an obligation to share your gifts and talents—to be that beacon of shining light, visible to those who need a solution… because you may just the be the person who is meant to serve them…
I believe and know that the Universe is kind, loving and supportive, and corresponds to the song in our heart.  We need only take those imperfect action steps without judging them! (Your ego judges your actions, so don’t listen).  It doesn’t matter what the action may be—it only matters that you took the step, so the universe can respond back.  Inspired action is the most productive kind,  however that is a topic for my next blog!

California Adventure

What else is there to do at 4am when the wineries in Napa Valley don’t open until 10??  BLOG!!
So here is the long and short of my adventure to California with my daughter thus far….
Arrive at airport at 6am Thursday, only to find that our 8:35 am to Denver has been delayed until 10am.  That would mean we would miss our Noon connecting flight to San Jose—Not good.   I remained calm knowing they would fix it, and invoked the power of “Easy World” . (Thanks to Julia Rogers Hamrick who wrote this magnificent book, making the statement, “I choose to live in easy world where everything is easy” is now a regular part of my vocab!
Beautiful!  The United Airlines rep was so amazing and helpful, she booked us on Air Canada for a 9:10 flight which would leave us plenty of time to catch our connector! YEAH! J   We even were provided a free lunch on the plane, (very pleasantly unexpected—Nice…) I am guessing because of our inconvenience. However...
The New flight crew were late in arriving. (Come on...Really?) The plane was cold. We waited, and had to be taxied out to be de-iced, and didn’t leave ground until 10:15.  SOOO… touch down Denver 11:35, dart of the plane, still living in easy world—breathing and trying to relax!  Step off the escalator to a door that opens for us in perfect timing, to ground train to the B section of the airport. Dash to B-25 Gate and were boarding by 11:40!  Plane doors close at 11:50!  Whew!  A little too close for comfort, but we made it!   But did our luggage…?
Uh uh…and it is raining in San Jose!  The forecast showed partly sunny when I looked a few days ago!! Lol (Now I can laugh)
The good news is our bags were on the next flight out and would arrive in 4 hours, but we decided to do without, and carry on to Napa Valley, and our bags will be delivered to our hotel in San Jose the next day.  So we picked up a few things and headed out in the rain( got a nice free upgrade on our rental! J  YEAH! but WITHOUT my GPS cause it is in the suitcase!  Do you know what it is like trying to read a map and follow the signs and roads after relying on a GPS for so long!  I always put my makeup, GPS, and a few necessities in the carry on but was keeping a light load this time cause I was carrying my laptop.. Oh well… Choose a better feeling thought…it looks like the sky is getting brighter…. Yes it is!  The rain is stopping and I actually see some blue sky!! J
We managed!  We thought we missed an exit, and veered off the hwy, so I could have a two minute panic stricken almost melt down—Thank goodness for my lovely daughter, who is so practical and calm, and is happy to figure out the map lol.  We realized we were on the right road after all, and merged back onto the Hwy, arriving in pretty darn good time to beautiful Napa Valley, and it is warm!
Our room, that I booked the night before, is so lovely! as is the woman who owns the Chardonnay Lodge, who was a gem to help us plan our stay around the area, and so generously upgraded us to the “Lavender” room.   This is the most adorable Lodge!  Women will love it—men—not so much…
Madi and I ventured out to the beautiful downtown area, on this warm balmy night, and had a lovely dinner at TUSCANY, a rustic wonderful restaurant with amazing food, and ambiance that made you feel like you are in Europe.
Now it is 7am—3 more hours to wait til the wineries open…oh… did I mention I have no hair product?!

A Perfectly Aligned Manifestation!

It seems appropriate to share this story with you, on the day of the eve of the last day of 2012…You see, I had a huge revelation on none other than 12-12-12 when I opened my email inbox, and found a totally unexpected gift, that would take me yet another step closer to achieving a small, short term goal!  This was a significant validation of just how powerful we can be, if we only allow ourselves to be in the flow!
This is a story of “Deliberate Creation”, and with this experiece I recognized some of the nuances that accompany the Law of Attraction.

I stumbled across Jenn August this fall, by way of her Wealthy Mind Warrior Teleconference, and came to really enjoy listening and learning from Jenn and the wonderful people she interviewed.   When I learned of Jenn’s workshop offered in San Jose California, (Unlock your Success Code and Thrive) on Jan 26th and 27th 2013, I had real strong desire, and gut instinct to go. However, everything would have to align perfectly. (I decided around the end of October, that I really wanted to go)
I had two free tickets to the event- Awesome.
I checked flights and there was one available and enough Aeroplan miles to get me there.  Great! (but how long would this flight be available?  I would have to book soon, and everything else had to unfold perfectly!)
With both my children in college, I knew that my husband would not be thrilled if I had to spend alot of $$  right now-- and there was the hotel cost to consider, and meals.  So, I created a clear intent and put it out there with a strong desire.
  •  I would need about $400.00 to manifest to cover my costs, and it would have to be totally unexpected money, so I could claim it as my gift rather than family money!
  •  I would have to be able to get a  Monday the 28th off work
  •   I would also really like to go with someone whose company I would greatly enjoy, and who would be willing to share the hotel cost.
  • Of course an Aeroplan/airmiles flight would  have to get me there.
  • Everything had to align perfectly, including the fact that my husband would have to be OK with it. (He had no idea yet of my intent to go!)

As we know with the law of attraction, often the universe throws curveballs, or waves at us, to test our commitment level or belief.  These subtle nuances are explained to so brilliantly well in Gary Spinnel’s book, “Beyond Intent”.  I am thoroughly enjoying this book and recommend it to you!
So… income the waves…None of the people I would like to attend with me are available. The “self-Sabotage” phase begins—Although I could go myself, and normally am comfortable travelling alone, I really wanted a travel partner, and my husband would probably not approve of me going alone.  Maybe this just isn’t meant to be… Where is the extra cash going to come from? What was I thinking?! Do I really want to travel this far to go to a workshop?!                  I recognized this "phase" and stopped myself quickly and stated a resounding “YES!  I do want to go, and I need to have some faith in the process” So I let it go, surrendering to the idea that something would transpire…
Two weeks later I received an email that the deadline was getting close to reserve my seat for the workshop.  I thought about reserving my seat, so I would demonstrate to the universe that I had serious intent, but I didn’t just yet. I wanted everything to show up first.  I did book the time off at work, and just checked the flights again, and the flight via aeroplan was still available!    OK, this is good…
The next morning, December 12 2012, I opened my inbox to an email that I do not open daily, and in my inbox, was a gift of $375.00 from an Affiliate program I had signed up for a couple of months previously!!!  All I had done was make the odd post promoting Denise Duffield Thomas's workshops on twitter!  When I posted for her, it was because I like her and her work, never thinking that the odds would be in my favour and that someone would actually purchase a product and I would earn commission!!  You would not believe the excitement I felt on this morning, as I realized what I had attracted! Now more than ever, excited about what is to come in 2013…

The best part of the story is that I have a travel partner, so my husband is happy. My daughter Madison told me she would like to come with me!  So, all aligned perfectly, even better than I intended with an outcome absolutely perfect, and I am so looking forward to sharing this experience with my daughter!

Shine your light in the world...

I begin each morning listening to a selection of Abraham’s “Getting Into The Vortex” meditation. It puts me in a place of peace and helps me create a mindset for the day of expectance, allowing, and receiving inspired action.

As much as I try to clear my mind for this brief 15 minute period, often thoughts or visions enter in… This morning, the idea of sharing my light and love in the world was vivid. I imagined myself lighting a candle, as I touched the heart of someone in some small way, they too lit a candle, and with the ripple effect, it wasn’t long before a massive amount of light was being emitted by thousands of candles…

I then thought of Marianne Williamson’s most profound quote from her book “A Return to Love” that begins, “Our Deepest Fear is not that we are inadequate…” ( (I encourage you to look it up, print it off and hang it on your fridge or cork board where you can read it often) This part of the quote spoke to me this morning… “And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same…”
Today, I encourage you to shine and share your light, your gifts, your love…Let the ripple effect begin…

“Let your light shine. Be a source of strength and courage. Share your wisdom. Radiate love.” Wilferd Peterson

Power Of Gratitude

I remember when I experienced for the first time (years ago) just how powerful the feeling of gratitude is… I was driving at the time, and something wonderful had just happened, and I was feeling on top of the world! I kept saying “thank you” over and over to myself, and I began to feel this wave of energy ripple through my body, continuously. I had felt this same energy sensation not long before, when I began to explore meditation. I felt so connected in that moment to something so much larger than myself…
We have heard many times over, just how important gratitude is, but often we neglect to think or speak it aloud. Why is that? There really is no excuse! We can’t use the “busy” word for everything!

I just listened to an interview with Bob Doyle, via “The Masters Gathering”. I love listening to Bob's wisdom! One of the things he shared is that feeling gratitude is one of the most powerful techniques for attracting what you want in your life. It puts you in a direct path of alignment with “receiving”. When you say “thank you” to the universe, you are saying, “ I have…I have…and I love what I have—and it feels great, and the universe naturally mirrors that and returns to you more things that you love and will feel grateful for! How simple a step is that to direct you on a path to achieving your goals and desires?

Gratitude is so easy to incorporate daily—I consider gratitude part of my daily morning reflection and prayer, and I continue to find things I am grateful for throughout my day. Things like--great driving conditions when I have to be on the road, green lights, a beautiful view, my wonderful business partners and customers,my supportive friends, etc., and as if by magic, the day just seems to flow perfectly! What if we could all add daily gratitude to our new positive habits?

There is an incredible little E-book that I recently stumbled across. It is called “The Astonishing Power Of Gratitude” and you can download it for free. It is only 18 pages, so you can read it right now! It is written by Wes Hopper, and you can find it at DailyGratitude.com Enjoy!

I found this statement online: “When gratitude is practiced as a regular and meaningful expression—where thought, emotion and intention are involved—it has the potential to change life positively and dramatically.” How cool is that?!

Making A Difference...

I think deep down, most of us have a desire to make a difference, inspire others, impact lives in a positive way—I know I do, and I believe I am in the process of doing just that… but how do we get from that thought—that desire, to actually beginning something?
Everything that you manifest and create begins with a thought, a passion-filled idea or desire that stirs that excitement—fills you with energy and gives you butterflies in your stomach! This inevitably then draws you to something that will help you take the next step. It could be a conversation with a friend, who encourages you/and helps generate some ideas opening the door to possibility. It could be a book that someone recommends to you that peaks your curiosity and draws you in. It could be an invitation to an event. When these serendipitous events occur, run with them! Start asking yourself questions that you want answers to! Then take some time to be still—it is during these times that our answers flood in and our greatest ideas and inspiration are generated. If you are stressed and being pulled in 100 directions, you will not hear the answers.
For myself, after making a conscious choice to reflect more, and be “still” more, answers began to show up—many in the form of books. One of my most favourite books, that really expanded my thinking was, “The Celestine Prophecy”. This then led me to a wonderful stream of books, each impacting me in a wonderful way!
In order to make a difference in this world, you have to stretch, grow, and expand yourself. You have to push yourself through things that may feel a little fearful, but guess what? You have been tricked into thinking that those butterflies in your stomach are because of fear, and if you let it, it will stop you in your tracks. What if you re-wired your thinking and recognized that the butterflies are simply there because of excitement, anticipation and expectation that something great is on the way! Move through it because something really wonderful is on the other side…
We have all been blessed with various talents and gifts that can serve the masses. We need only, recognize and build these strengths, and blend it with what we are passionate about—then go out there and share it with the world…

Inspiration: You are an infinite being with limitless capabilities!

What is my purpose and how do I create more joy in my life?

Have you ever asked yourself either, or both of these questions? Have you ever felt lonely, yet you were surrounded by wonderful people in your life?
My journey to self-discovery began in my mid-thirties, with the asking of these questions. I had so much to be grateful for—a good husband and two beautiful healthy children. Yet, I kept feeling this constant nagging of wanting and needing “something more” in my life. My life felt chaotic, and busy, and I felt like I was always in a hurry, yet I was working only part time. I wanted my husband to “change”, to be more like I wanted him to be; to mold into the type of person that I felt he should be—that would make me happier... I felt this sense of sadness, (though not a serious depression) but enough that it caused a stirring deep within my soul, and I began to ask myself some questions like, “ Is this it? Is this what I am to experience? Are we not meant to experience joy and fulfillment?’ JOY became my word, and I was determined to discover how I could create more joy in my life. I guess I made this known to people around me because I began to receive little gifts for Christmas and my birthday with the theme of Joy!
One of the first books I began to read which gave me great comfort, and began to provide me with some answers, and a way to implement a sense of peace, calmness and acceptance, was a book that was given to me by a very dear friend of mine. It was Sarah Ban Breathnach’s “Simple Abundance—A daybook of comfort and Joy. “ I began a new habit, awaking a little earlier each morning, to give myself the gift of having a little time to myself. I would make my cup of java, light a candle, and sit in beautiful silence reading the day’s message, followed by a little time for stillness and reflection. And so began my journey to a happier, more fulfilling life…
Inspiration: Every day, you must choose to be happy—you create your joy from within…
